Our Story
As we started to explore ways of funding a resort, we of course we first approached our banking partner in Costa Rica. We then visited more than 7 banks to better understand our options.
After many conversations we were discouraged to learn that a best case scenario would result in 9+ months of decision making from the bank and if we were lucky enough to be approved a construction loan for the project, a 10 Year loan interest rate would likely be 16-24%. This would mean that if we had a $1 Million loan, we would pay much more than $1 Million in interest, making the project nearly impossible to achieve!
With options for interest rates over 20%, we were starting to feel like building a resort wouldn’t be an option. We knew we had an amazing team but you have to be reasonable when it comes to numbers, right?
Last September, while sitting at a conference in Orlando, I remembered a story marketing guru Dan Kennedy had shared about how the Stratosphere Casino in Las Vegas was funded. Instead of using bank loans to fund The Stratosphere Resort, the owner created what some have called an “Irresistible Offer” that included a 2 night stay at the resort, tickets to a show, a steak dinner, free alcohol and money to gamble with at the resort. This offer was mailed via USPS and thousands of people took advantage of this offer.
I had an idea to create an irresistible offer for helping our team in Costa Rica.

FAQs
Q: How Long will the hotel take to build and when do you anticipate opening?
Our team has been working on this project since early 2023. We’ve identified the land and it is AMAZING! As of December 2023 we are in the final stages of completing our due diligence on the real estate and finalizing the details for purchasing the land. We have been working with an attorney and architect for several months and have already visited the site with our consultant who has more than major 50 hotel/resort projects that he has helped make happen during his career. According to our architect, we expect the construction process to take approximately 10-18 months to complete once we break ground.
Q: How do I know the location and site are a great?
It’s hard to explain without standing on the property and seeing it. However, during our November 2023 final scouting trip, our consultant when asked about the location and potential of the project rated it a 10 out of 10 and said that this was quite possibly the most exciting project he has ever seen and had the opportunity to be part of. We realize this is a risk, but we wouldn’t be asking for help if we weren’t confident in the potential and feasibility of this amazing project.
Q: How will the Founding Family Members be Recognized and Featured at the Resort?
We are building a special wall to feature every name and recognize those individuals who helped us fund this project. Once you signup as a founding family member, you will have an opportunity to list your family name or the name of someone special as a tribute to the power of families. This will be a permanent fixture at the resort meant to inspire and remind every person who visits the resort that we are all one big family.
Q: How Long will I have to redeem and use my Founding Family Member Visit?
You’ll be able to come and visit us and use your FREE 4 day 3 Night stay as soon as we have our grand opening. You’ll want to reserve your date and book early to ensure room availability but you’ll have early access ahead of the public to reserve your date and rooms. You’ll be able to use the stay anytime within 3 years of our grand opening.
Q: What if I Can’t Travel? Can I Gift my Founding Family Member Trip Visit to someone else?
We would love to have you visit us, but you also have the option to assign your visit to someone else. In order to do this, you will need to send a request to someone from our team and we will also reach out to confirm the transfer. We’ll make it as easy as possible for you.
