Side Notes: This is a song I remember singing many times as a child, both at home and in church. The tune is catchy and the message that has always stuck with me from this song is that I need to “try” to by like Jesus in everything I do. This song answers the question of what that means in one of the simplest ways. “Be gentle. Be kind. Find ways to serve your neighbor, and most important of all, LOVE your neighbor—in all that you do—in your words, deeds and thoughts.”
If we all would “try” to be more like Jesus, I’m certain most of the problems we face in the world today would go away.
