Side Notes: I think part of the healing process includes asking for help. That might include asking another person for help, but often to find peace, it includes looking to a higher power for additional assistance. For many of us, asking for help requires us to be humble enough to ask for it. Interestingly, the word humble comes from the latin word, “humus” which is the most fertile type of soil for growing plants. When we are humble, it means we are teachable and some of the biggest growth we have as a person comes from when we are mentally in a place that we are willing to be teachable and grow. As I was writing this tune, the words that ran through my head with the intro melody were, “God above, hear Thou my prayer…”. I haven’t written lyrics to the remainder of the song, but as you play this, try thinking these words and treat this song as a prayer, asking for help with whatever you might be struggling with. I hope this melody can help you and others find peace and healing through whatever your struggles might be.
