Side Notes: I wrestled with this arrangement for a long time, knowing how much energy this song carries when sung. This version pulls it into a softer, lullaby-like-space and not for congregational or choral singing but a gentle prelude that preserves the harmonic color that makes the tune so compelling. I wouldn’t recommend a choir sing this arrangement, but I do think it works well as a mother singing to her child, or as something a baby might listen to while falling asleep.
