Side Notes: James Pierpont wrote this song in the fall of 1857 and called it “The One-Horse Open Sleigh”. It did not become popular as Christmas music until several years later. This is the classic tune that I think everyone has played as a beginner student. Rather than do the same thing that has been done before, I tried to add a few unique elements to the song that will make it different, but nice to listen to as an easy going or relaxing song. I hope this is one you enjoy coming back to play each year for the holidays.
