Song Notes: I often find inspiration for songs when I’m outside in nature. This tune came to me right after we had a rainstorm after several months of no water. When writing music, oftentimes the most simple patterns can be the most beautiful, just like a light rain storm. This was the soundtrack I felt fit the light rain and clouds which were outside on that day. When playing this song, be sure to take time to slow down at times and let the music breathe and come when you feel like the rain drops should be falling or dripping off the leaves and any object you’d like to imagine. It’s totally fine to add plenty of rubato to make this feel natural and like it’s your own rain storm outside your window.
