This is a Single Song DIGITAL PDF SHEET MUSIC VERSION of the “Stars in the Night”, arranged by Jason Tonioli.
Have you ever had something meaningful in your own life that you started, set aside, and then almost forgot about?
I’ve been going through a lot of old notebooks, iPad sketches, Finale files, and folders from the last several years that included music ideas. At first, I thought I might find a few unfinished song ideas.
Instead, I found hundreds. Songs that I had forgotten. Songs that were stashed away like a letter that was never sent.
The best of those songs is now included in two new original piano solo books! I hope these songs can inspire the completion of meaningful projects that have been forgotten in your life. It could be music, a journal, a project, a goal, a letter, a book idea, a conversation, anything.

This is a Single Song Download of the hymn “Stars in the Night” written as a Piano Solo
About this Song:
Side Notes: This tune came together over several days and nights. I kept hearing this as a piano/woodwind or piano/cello duet and had been working with the left hand and melody for quite some time. The night it finally came together, I was sitting on my back patio on a work Zoom call. Right then, the full moon came up over the Wasatch mountains. The stars were starting to shine, and it reminded me of a street concert I was able to do years earlier with my violin friend on a full harvest moon.
As you play this song, don’t rush into the melody and hang on to each of the chords as if you had just had a long day and didn’t want the relaxing evening to end. Picture yourself sitting with a loved one or just enjoying the moon as it comes up. This song evolved over time, and I was able to fully orchestrate this and perform it with a full orchestra in March of 2026.
