Side Notes: The inspiration for this tune came from Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. I wanted to capture what it may have felt like as he began losing his ability to hear the world around him. I have watched people I love begin to slowly fade away.
We know that with age we will not be able to do all things we once could, but there is often a quiet sense of loss as that happens. For some, their senses, their minds, and even their memories begin to fade. I believe that the feelings tied to meaningful moments do not disappear as easily and the beauty of those memories can still remain and often include a musical soundtrack. I hope this song reminds you of someone you care about who may be fading, and that it encourages you to reach out, remember the good times you have had together, reminding both of you of the love shared during those meaningful moments.
