This is a Single Song DIGITAL PDF SHEET MUSIC VERSION of the “Harvest”, arranged by Jason Tonioli.
Have you ever had something meaningful in your own life that you started, set aside, and then almost forgot about?
I’ve been going through a lot of old notebooks, iPad sketches, Finale files, and folders from the last several years that included music ideas. At first, I thought I might find a few unfinished song ideas.
Instead, I found hundreds. Songs that I had forgotten. Songs that were stashed away like a letter that was never sent.
The best of those songs is now included in two new original piano solo books! I hope these songs can inspire the completion of meaningful projects that have been forgotten in your life. It could be music, a journal, a project, a goal, a letter, a book idea, a conversation, anything.

About this Song:
Side Notes: I found this song in an old sketchbook that I had written out years ago. The song was nearly finished, but somehow got set aside and lost among other ideas. I did not come across it again until I started going back through old notes and unfinished pieces.
From what I could tell, I had written with a time like the Fall harvest in mind. There were very few notes about what I was thinking or feeling when I wrote it, which is not uncommon when I sketch out ideas quickly. Most of the time I am just trying to capture the melody before it is gone, with the intention of coming back later to finish it. When I revisited this piece, it felt like the emotions you have during a time of change, but also a time of completion. At harvest time, there is a sense of work that has been done, and a quiet satisfaction that comes from seeing something through from beginning to end. The air is cooler, the colors begin to shift, and things seem to slow down just a little. It is a time to reflect on what has grown, what has worked, and what might need to be done differently moving forward. There is both gratitude and a bit of uncertainty as one season closes and another begins.
Hopefully as you play this tune, you can bring your own thoughts and emotions into it. Think about what “harvest” means to you. It might be tied to a specific memory, a season of life, or a moment where you felt a sense of completion or change. I find that with most of my music, I play it a little differently each time, depending on my mood and what I am feeling in the moment. This piece works well that way. Let it reflect where you are, and allow it to change as you do.
