Side Notes: I can still remember as a child, when I felt discouraged or scared, how a hug or the calming hand of my mother had a way of bringing peace like nothing else could. As important as it is to be listened to when we are going through a hard time, I think that a soft touch, a holding of someone’s hand, an embrace, or a hug can have a way of calming the spirit of a person like nothing else. There is a different type of love that can be felt when someone is willing to not only listen to you but be there next to you.
As you play this tune, try to picture a mother holding her baby. If you have children or grandchildren, think about a time when you’ve received a hug or given a hug. I think that hearts have a way of communicating with each other, an unseen power that can’t be explained but is real, whether that is showing love, empathy or just being there near someone who you know believes in you.
