About this Song:
Side Notes: I started this song on the last day of a cruise to Alaska. Our final stop was Whittier, one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Most people were getting off the cruise ship to board a train, but we had scheduled a glacier excursion that day and had a few hours to wait before we needed to disembark. On the ship there was a piano in a hallway that had been calling my name all week. The problem with cruise ships is they typically lock the pianos and are only for workers on the ship. Because the ship was nearly empty, and I happen to carry around a Yamaha Piano key, I was able to secretly open the piano and play it. Multiple times workers came up to tell me I couldn’t play the piano, but when I told them, “It had been unlocked for me to play”, and they could see I was writing music, they left me alone and was allowed to keep playing. At least four workers came up to me during about a one-hour period where I was writing this song out. It was simple, but on that day, this was the soundtrack that I heard while looking out at the mountains, glaciers and the crystal blue water in this special place.
