Side Notes: This tune was started as a sketch on July 23, 2024 and then forgotten. Some time later, I rediscovered the notes and played through the original idea. Once I revisited it, the song quickly came together—and what you’ll find below is the finished result. So many ideas begin with a spark of inspiration but never make it past those first steps. Life interrupts, momentum fades, and what once felt meaningful is quietly set aside. Unless we take time to capture our ideas and give them space to return, they often disappear altogether.
I’ve come to believe that inspiration is a gift—and that what we do with it matters. When we act on the ideas we’re given, even imperfectly, more ideas seem to follow. If you’re reading this, take a moment to think about something you once felt inspired to create or pursue but never finished. If it was a good idea then, it might still be worth returning to now.
