About this Song:
Side Notes: The melody comes from the traditional British folk tune “O Waly, Waly”, published in 1906 by Cecil Sharp and Charles Marson as part of an effort to preserve music sung in local communities in Britain and Scotland. Over the years, it has been paired with many sacred and secular texts such as “The Water is Wide” and others. I love how the tune ebbs and flows. This is the same tune as was used on the song/hymn “The River is Wide”.
This hymn was recently released in the Hymns — For Home and Church, but this arrangement is intended to be a prelude or musical number version of this tune.
